The fused glass sculpture Out of the Blue celebrates the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the illusive Blue Poppy seeds from Tibet to Vancouver Island, BC. Mrs. Jennie Butchard was the only recipient of these seeds in North America. The contrast between the vivid blues and the carnelian and various hues of green makes a bold statement. As a stand-alone piece, it can be placed in any location where it can take advantage of the natural light in the room. The glass is 3/8” thick and seated in a tiger wood base. This piece ships for free within the United States.
