The fused glass bagatelle Teacups features bright red flowers with a delicate fern frond, glass confetti, and gold highlights. The glass and metal beading give this sun catcher a charming finish. To achieve this look, I coat the flowers and leaves I want to use with glass powder and place them under a piece of clear glass. When I fire it in the kiln, the heat burns away the organic material leaving a fossil vitre, or glass imprint, of the original plants. It is a small piece of art that will brighten your day when you see it hanging in a window or from a tree branch in the garden. The bagatelle gives you a reason to stop for a moment, catch your breath, and then go on with your day. It makes a great gift that says, “I’m thinking of you.”
