Commissioned Artwork Policy

Conversation

Commissioning a piece of artwork may not be a familiar process.  I think of it as a conversation that leads to creation.  I strive to develop a design with the client’s voice as the driving force.  Some clients have a clear idea of what they are looking for while others have more of a vague idea.  I often start with a  a brief questionnaire that gives me insight into the direction that will work for the client.  I will offer sketches with glass thoughts and I look forward to the client’s thoughts, suggestions, questions.  The final design is the culmination of our conversation.

Payment

Once the client accepts the proposal from Caron Art Glass for a piece, 50% of the total is due (including crating and shipping).  This marks the beginning of the project.  Caron Art Glass will send the client regular updates with photos during the production phase.  Once the project is complete, the remaining 50% of the total is due before the project is shipped or at the time of pick up / delivery.

Cancellations

Once a proposal for a commissioned piece is accepted by the client and the work has begun, custom projects cannot be canceled. If the client needs a project completed by a specific date or for a particular event, please make sure that information is communicated to me before a proposal is made and accepted.

Returns

The client’s satisfaction is my goal, and I will work to ensure that the piece meets his/her expectations. Updates with photos will keep him/her informed as the project is being created and ensure that the piece the client receives is the piece he/she is expecting.   If the client is not satisfied with the artwork once it arrives, I will work with him/her to resolve the issue at no charge.
